Weather-dependent operation of overhead power lines refers to the influence of environmental conditions, such as temperature, wind, and precipitation, on the performance and safety of power transmission systems. High winds can cause line oscillations or even damage the infrastructure, while temperature fluctuations affect the line's thermal capacity. In colder climates, ice accumulation can increase the weight on power lines, potentially leading to line sag or breakage.
